Early Years Education in a Rural Environment
Wattisham Airfield Childcare Centre provides Early Years education in a rural environment just outside Wattisham Airfield.
Our building is a purpose built building which opened in January 2014. We have 3 separate rooms, all having their own access to an outdoor area.
Our session times are:
Monday – Friday 8.00am-6.00pm during term time only.
Early Years funding is available for eligible
Our nursery operates as a non-profit making charity and provides early years education for service personnel families and those from local surrounding villages.
Our setting has a designated person to oversee the Safeguarding and Welfare requirements of children and their families in addition to a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENCo) for children who require any additional support.
As parents are the child’s first educator, we believe it is important to build good parent partnerships to extend the learning and development. We acknowledge children reach their full potential whilst engaging in activities based around their individual interests. We also invite parents to ‘stay and play’ with their children to gain a true insight into how they play and develop within the setting.
Your Child’s Development
Staff will create a ‘On-line Learning Journey’ for each child which contains observations and photographs as evidence of the child’s development. This document is available for parents to access and contribute at any time. This is called Tapestry and display boards within the nursery explain how to use this with examples, as well as leaflets should you require them.
